LOCATIONS

Each location will be situated amongst the people of the country and not amongst other tourists. A key part of this immersive retreat is to also learn to communicate with other cultures in different languages and all guests will be equipped with translation software so that the language barriers are lessened. A community service project will be a part of each retreat in order to offer each guest the opportunity to interact with locals in a meaningful way.

CHICHEN ITZA

At its height, Chichen Itza was home to Mayan people from all areas of the Yucatan Peninsula. The city exhibits a multitude of architectural styles, reminiscent of styles seen in central Mexico and of the Puuc and Chenes styles found in the Northern Maya lowlands. Historians believe that Chichen Itza was founded and rose to prominence due to its close proximity to the Xtoloc cenote, an underground source of fresh water.

More than 7,000 feet above sea level in the Andes Mountains, Machu Picchu is the most visited tourist destination in Peru. A symbol of the Incan Empire and built around 1450AD, Machu Picchu was designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1983 and was named one of the New Seven Wonders of the World in 2007.

THE GREAT WALL

The Great Wall, one of the greatest wonders of the world, was enlisted in the World Heritage by UNESCO in 1987. Just like a gigantic dragon, the Great Wall winds up and down across deserts, grasslands, mountains and plateaus stretching approximately 4,163 miles from east to west of China. With a history of more than 2000 years, some of the sections of the great wall are now in ruins or even entirely disappeared. However, it is still one of the most appealing attractions all around the world owing to its architectural grandeur and historical significance.

If there were a wonder that represents intimacy and compassion it would be Taj Mahal. Meaning “Crown Palace”, it is arguably the most well preserved and architecturally beautiful tomb in the world. The English poet, Sir Edwin Arnold has described The Taj as “Not a piece of architecture, as other buildings are, but the proud passions of an emperor’s love wrought in living stones.” The Taj is not merely a monument of grace and dignity alone. It is, in fact, a message to all mankind that “Pure love is the soul of life”.

CHRIST THE REDEEMER

The statue of Christ the Redeemer has become a symbolic protector of people. Like the Christian account of the life and death of Jesus Christ who was sent from God to protect mankind, the statue is meant to protect the urban environment. Christ the Redeemer is also believed to provide protection for the soul.

In comparison, London’s ultra-modern Wembley Stadium can seat just a couple thousand more.
